Ian Linaker identified a significant and widespread problem in the aviation industry: the inefficiency of tracking onboard products once they enter circulation. With a rich background in aviation, including successfully building and exiting Watermark, a leading aviation supplier, Ian leveraged his expertise to tackle this challenge head-on.
With the creation of Weave Intelligence, a world first and pioneering aviation-specific product tracking platform, the world’s leading airlines utilise sophisticated technology and Weave’s proprietary network to transform their supply chains and deliver meaningful value.
Ian is the Founder and CEO of Weave Intelligence, with over 15 years of experience working in the aviation sector.
In 2013, Ian established a fast-growing inflight amenities supply business, before leading a Private Equity backed acquisition of an industry competitor, Watermark, in 2017. After restructuring the business and delivering year-on-year growth which saw Watermark supplying the world’s leading airlines, Ian exited his majority shareholding in 2024 as part of an externally financed MBO – with a new focus on aviation technology solutions.
Prior to Watermark, Ian worked for a London based, global management consultancy firm specialising in aviation with global airlines and airport operators.
